The first book off the shelf made me sigh a little to loudly and pause a little too long. While I’m sure it will be worth reading, I’m going to wait a while before I start it. Instead, I decided to go with The Pickwick Papers. This book makes me think of Little Women, and the things they do inspired by this work of Dickens. A Tale of Two Cities is one of my all-time favorite books, but I have a feeling that this one is going to be pretty different.
My copy is beautiful and old, purchased from a library sale a few years ago. It was printed in 1950 and smells like coziness and time. I’ll start it tonight. :)
A shelf full of books I’ve bought, been given or married into taunts me every day. I’ve decided to conquer it. Not ready to give myself a timeline yet, but I can say that the conquering is starting now and (barring any physical ailments and/or incapacitations) will post either what I’m reading or something about what I’m reading every day.
Here is the bookshelf (a handmade beauty, if I do say so myself). There are 134 books on it. I cannot guarantee that I will read every book. Some of them I have read before and I’m not sure I’ll reread those. Then there is the dictionary/concordance. And the Systamatic Theology book. Those are each 2-3 inches thick. I may or may not (mostly likely may not) be that ambitious.
Here we go!
